Foto Friday - Dentist

The boys had their first dental check up back in January.

C and C did fine and let the dentist look in their mouths. Tucker, as expected, threw a fit and was least cooperative. They were all really into their new toothbrushes and goody bag though afterwards.

Foto Friday - Handsome Boys!

They're gonna appreciate this photo someday for sure, right?! (This was taken back in December.)
They love sneaking into the bathroom and getting into all of the drawers!

How We Welcomed 2016

A little throwback to M and me saying goodbye to 2015 and getting ready to start 2016.

We played a few games of dominoes.

And of course enjoyed some sparkling grape juice.

So far - 2016 is pretty awesome! :)

Going Out in Public

When you see this picture, you probably focus in on my 4 little cuties. I see Josh...and I smile to myself because I now remember that he's a good 15 minutes into a conversation with some strangers about our children and having triplets. For once...I let him handle all the nosy and annoying questions that I usually deal with. lol.

This took place about 9 months ago. We decided to be brave and venture out with all 4 of our kiddos to an indoor play area at South Park. I am pretty good at avoiding all eye-contact and giving short (but sweet) answers to stranger's questions/comments. Josh usually is, too - but at a place like this, if you get stuck by someone, it can be harder to get away. I was glad I got to chase the littles around.

Here we are all headed to the mall.

Now, I realize that triplets are a rare sight, and I know that comments and looks will happen. I do dress mine alike (and in public, it's actually easier to keep an eye on them this way) so that brings more attention. The majority of the time, I am okay with it, and try and answer most questions as gracefully as I can. However, many of the questions we get are often very personal and sometimes even hurtful. So, if I seem guarded or unfriendly in public, it's because I'm also just wanting to go about my business like everyone else, or I'm worried about what some stranger is going to say about my children or me.

LOVE Target carts for 3. C and C had their feet up for the end of the ride.

On the flip side, of course the majority of comments and questions are all very positive and sweet. So, I try and remember not to let a few bad apples ruin the whole bunch. However, if I had a dollar for every time I heard the phrase, "Wow. Your hands are full!" I'd be rich!!!

Valentine's Day 2016

Just a few pictures from Valentine's Day this year. Only 2 months late - that's an improvement for me!

Madison wanted to decorate cookies for everyone.

It's always a challenge when trying to get a group photo of my wonderful children. It's fun to see all the attempts we make though. :)

Carter, Tucker, Cooper, and Madison

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all these little people!

By Madison

Madison LOVES drawing and creating and doing 'crafts.' Right now she is working on making every single one of her classmates masks (for some unknown reason - but whatever, it keeps her busy). She loves drawing pictures and is very detailed.

This is one of her recent family portraits. I love it for so many reasons. It's hanging in our kitchen right now.

This was a random family portrait with me yelling and angry at the boys. Madison is in a chair with Cooper at her feet, Carter is hanging on my legs, and my Dad is holding Tucker. Josh is in the background. This one is NOT hanging anywhere.

Madison has been learning SOOOOO much in Kindergarten this year. The first half of the year was definitely a lot of work as M was learning how to read. In the past month or so, I've seen her reading skills really grow. She doesn't struggle as much, and she is much better at figuring out words and trying to spell words.

She has also been really into creating books. She wrote and illustrated this book for me about me.

'A mom is nice to her kids.'

'A mom is nice to her friends.' (She told me I was the shortest one in blue.)

'A mom helps her kids.'

'She buys toys for our family.' (That's a bag of toys, and me coming up our stairs through the gate. It is not me with a ball and chain. ;-/)

'The end.'

She wrote this awhile ago. And, her writing has already improved from this.

Cooper, Tucker, and Carter are TWO

I can't believe we have two-year-olds!

The boys turned 2 on January 22nd. We had a small celebration at home with just the grandparents. It was nice and simple. I plan to have a bigger party next year for the boys.

During their nap I decorated their cakes and hung a few decorations for their Paw Patrol family celebration!

 Carter

Tucker

Cooper

They loved exploring their decorations.

They received a special gift from a fellow secret sister triplet mom.

They bombarded Grandpa and opened their gifts immediately!

After dinner - it was cake and birthday song time. Tucker wasn't feeling the best.

Here are the boys a day later with their gift from Great Grandma Bevy and Great Grandpa Louie.

They are two. TWO. I have three TWO-year-olds. Now they are already a quarter of a year to their next birthday. Ayi-i-i!!!

Christmas Day 2015

We spent Christmas Day at home with my Dad, and brother and sister-in-law. It was so nice they were visiting this year!

Christmas Morning - Santa visited!

The kids could hardly wait!

The boys ran directly to their new rides!

Madison made Uncle and Auntie Cat aprons.

Even Winky was in the spirit!

Until next Christmas...

Lunch for the Troublets

Thought I'd document the boys' favorite lunch right now. This is from yesterday.

They share 2.5 PBJ sandwiches - crust and all. They also love baked sweet potato 'fries.'

They share about half of a can of pears (or peaches). They all love fruit!

Carter is crunching his apple slices - they all shared an apple. They love apple slices. I just recently started dipping them in PB for them, and they enjoy that, too.

Today, I also gave them a few yogurt-covered raisins. Cooper is very focused here.

Of course they had milk, too.

Overall, they are pretty good eaters. Although, at two, they are getting a little pickier. Other things I serve for lunch are mac-n-cheese, turkey dogs, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Sometimes they eat left overs. They also love peaches and grapes.

I'll have to document their breakfasts one of these days for fun, too! They are great eaters in the morning.

I learned so many things from the way we handled Madison and her meal time. She is now the pickiest eater ever and has a limited diet of foods she'll eat. These little guys get what is served. If they don't like it, they can wait until the next meal. That is the best thing I've ever done for their sake, and my sanity.
